Alongside his role as Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure and Projects at Khalifeh & Partners, Ala’ has overseen a significant portfolio of renewable energy, water, and sustainable infrastructure mandates. He is particularly distinguished for his specialist expertise in advising on and navigating all facets of energy projects in Jordan and across the region. Over the past five (5) years, he has led the legal teams advising on the development of many of Jordan’s most prominent and strategically important renewable energy projects, a substantial number of which have been structured as PPP transactions.

Ala’ is presently advising on several complex and large-scale initiatives, including the Attarat Oil Shale direct burning project with an estimated value of USD $2.2 billion, as well as a range of wind and solar PV projects. In addition to his project finance experience, Ala’ has contributed to the corporatization of the Water Authority of Jordan’s operations in Amman and Aqaba, and he has also acted as issuer’s legal counsel on multiple sovereign bond issuances with an aggregate value of approximately USD $4 billion based on Regulation S and Rule 144A.
